Rassembler Marco Bellochio et Carmelo Bene, c’est « rendre hommage, au-delà des différences de leurs œuvres, à une même volonté de résistance. Place est donc faite à cette alchimie italienne de beau et de fureur » dit Dominique Bax, directrice du Magic Cinéma et du festival qui y fête cette année ses vingt ans. Ce cinéma d’art et d’essai qui propose une programmation de haute qualité, fait le pari, depuis 1987, année de naissance de Théâtres au Cinéma, que « la culture figure en bonne place dans la mémoire populaire » et qu’on peut offrir le meilleur au plus grand nombre en assumant cet élitisme qui est bien davantage le soutien que le mépris de la démocratie. Théâtres au Cinéma présente chaque année, au début du printemps, l’intégrale des films d’un réalisateur qui a marqué de son empreinte la cinématographie mondiale ainsi que les adaptations au cinéma d’un auteur. Cette saison est l’occasion de découvrir l’intégrale de l’œuvre de Marco Bellocchio (en présence du réalisateur dès la soirée d’inauguration le 20 mars), soit quinze courts-métrages, vingt longs-métrages et une dizaine de documentaires, et de rendre un hommage à Carmelo Bene dont seront projetés les neuf films et les dix-huit films autour de son travail théâtral et dont sera présenté un scénario inédit, A boccaperta.
Dialogue entre les arts, rencontres avec les artistes
Projections, exposition, master class, lectures, avant-premières, show musical, table ronde, carte blanche à Marco Bellocchio, rencontres avec la crème des planches et de la toile : comme chaque année, cette édition 2009 aux couleurs transalpines met en perspective et en écho différents univers artistiques (la littérature, la musique, le théâtre et le cinéma). Pendant deux semaines, plus d’une centaine de projections sont ouvertes au public à des prix extrêmement abordables, pendant que, parallèlement, une programmation est dédiée aux jeunes cinéphiles, des tout petits jusqu’aux adolescents, afin qu’eux aussi puissent s’adonner aux joies de la découverte et de la diversité des genres. Enfin, l’édition du tome 20 de la collection Théâtres au Cinéma accompagne cet anniversaire avec un ouvrage consacré aux œuvres des deux créateurs mis cette année à l’honneur à Bobigny.
