C’est un théâtre où l’intelligence scénique, l’esthétique puissante et réfléchie, ainsi que l’engagement artistique et humain touchent au cœur les spectateurs. Un théâtre qui prend le temps. Le temps de mûrir, d’écouter, de comprendre, d’être artistiquement libre, pour tenter finalement de restituer au plus juste la parole riche et contradictoire d’un auteur, qu’il soit dramaturge ou romancier. Dans notre société si avide de changement et si pressée, ce temps est un bien rare et précieux. « Un théâtre unique, même en Russie, qui perpétue depuis vingt-cinq ans une tradition oubliée : le théâtre d’art de répertoire. » dit la traductrice Sorour Kasmai. Un théâtre qui mêle l’intime, les destins individuels, et l’Histoire et ses bouleversements. Au programme, Frères et Soeurs de Fedor Abramov, spectacle fondateur, créé en 1985 et ovationné dans le monde entier, avec pour cadre un village du Grand Nord, débutant par ces mots du discours de Staline de 1941 : « Frères et Sœurs, consacrez-vous à la victoire sur l’ennemi… » A voir aussi Les étoiles dans le ciel de l’aube d’Alexandre Galine, qui se fonde sur le fait qu’à Moscou pendant les Jeux Olympiques de 1980 les autorités ont évacué de la ville marginaux et prostituées. A découvrir encore deux pièces de Tchekhov – La Pièce sans nom (Platonov) et Oncle Vania -, ainsi que Les Démons de Fedor Dostoïevski, Tchevengour d’Andreï Platonov et Vie et destin de Vassili Grossman. Cette dernière pièce, remarquable adaptation d’un roman majeur de notre temps, a déjà été présentée à la MC93 en 2007. L’Atelier Lev Dodine présente une master class illustrant sa conception de la formation de l’acteur – danse, chant, musique… -, sachant que le théâtre est selon les mots du metteur en scène et pédagogue « l’art de synthèse par excellence ».
