« 4.48 Psychosis est une pièce qui fait surgir l’expression presque originelle, essentielle, du théâtre, à travers la parole d’un seul personnage : une femme, déclarait Christian Benedetti dans nos colonnes, en janvier 2017*. Cette parole unique est tellement forte qu’elle concrétise l’ambition ultime de Sarah Kane : faire en sorte que le fond et la forme parviennent à se rejoindre, à se confondre. » Ecrite peu de temps avant le suicide de son auteure, 4.48 Psychosis nous plonge dans l’esprit d’une femme en état de dépression psychotique. Une femme qui se débat contre la vie, contre le monde, contre elle-même, qui ne parvient plus à faire la différence entre ce qui appartient au réel et ce qui est de l’ordre de l’imaginaire. Cette œuvre coup de poing est ici interprétée, dans la mise en scène radicalement dépouillée de Christian Benedetti, par la comédienne Hélène Viviès.
