CHATELET / COMEDIE MUSICALE
C’est un ouvrage dans la grande tradition de la comédie musicale américaine – avec orchestration brillante, numéros de claquette et mélodies accrocheuses à la clé – que l’américain Stephen Mear installe sur la scène du Châtelet pour finir l’année. L’intrigue de 42nd Street nous fait entrer dans les coulisses d’un spectacle de Broadway en train de se monter dans l’Amérique de l’après crise de 1929 : le producteur du spectacle Pretty Lady a tout misé sur sa vedette féminine pour casser la baraque et renflouer ses caisses mais, coup de théâtre, son artiste se blesse lors des répétitions… Heureusement le spectacle sera sauvé par la grâce et le talent d’une incroyable jeune choriste issue de la troupe et jusqu’à lors totalement inconnue !
