« Avant toute chose, fait remarquer la fondatrice de la compagnie La Ricotta, Bérangère Jannelle, la 66 Gallery est un dispositif très mobile, une installation plastique. Plongés dès leur entrée dans une ambiance sonore qui mixe des sons d’archives et [des] accords rock (…), les spectateurs sont invités à boire un verre de saké. » Après une brève introduction en forme de ciné-concert, l’acteur et poète sonore Douglas Rand interprète (en américain et en français) Howl, l’un des poèmes phares de la culture beatnik. « La performance poétique de Douglas est entièrement accompagnée par la performance musicale de Jean-Damien Ratel qui joue de l’ordinateur et d’un instrument original, le “Moloch Amédée” (ndlr, une sorte de harpe totem) conçu pour l’occasion », explique Bérangère Jannelle. En provoquant « une secousse rock qui ébranle les utopies autant qu’elle les stimule », la metteure en scène souhaite nous faire réentendre les « voix vibrantes », les « voix hilares », les « voix libres (…) et vivantes » de la Beat Generation.
