Plein de générosité, de sensibilité et d’humanité, le texte de A la vie ! porte l’empreinte familière des films réalisés par Robert Guédiguian, dont Jean-Louis Milesi est le coscénariste depuis plus de quinze ans. Les grands succès cinématographiques qui virent s’afficher à l’écran la gouaille marseillaise et la veine prolétaire ont fait l’éloge de petites gens, riches en expédients face à la mouise, dont le théâtre retrouve ici les figures. Dix ans après la sortie du film A la vie à la mort, Jean-Louis Milesi adapte pour les planches l’histoire de Marie-Sol, son mari et son père, chassés de leur petite maison par une propriétaire peu scrupuleuse, et accueillis à bras ouverts par Joséfa, stripteaseuse sur le retour qui leur offre l’asile dans son cabaret. Refusant de plier sous les coups de l’adversité, la joyeuse troupe comprend progressivement qu’il vaut mieux agir, se dresser et se battre plutôt que de prier, de supplier et d’attendre. Un conte philosophique, drolatique et tendre en forme d’hymne à la résistance !
