Théâtre de l'Entrepôt / texte et mes Clara Le Picard
On y croisait le maître du pop art bien sûr. Mais aussi Lou Reed et son Velvet Underground. Ou encore Mick Jagger, Dennis Hopper, Truman Capote… Bref des superstars en devenir et d’autres déjà établies. Dans les années 60, la Silver Factory, atelier de 450m2 peint couleur argent, où étaient produites les fameuses sérigraphies de Warhol, servait aussi de repère à une jet-set underground new-yorkaise qui y mêlait esprit de fête et effusion créative. Sous la direction de Clara Le Picard, la Compagnie à Table propose à travers les œuvres qui y ont été créées une plongée rétrospective dans cette aventure à nulle autre pareille.
Utopie de création collective
Nous sommes donc à New-York, entre 1964 et 1968. Sur scène, « un ampli, une guitare électrique, deux micros, divers instruments de musique. Valentine Carette et Franck William entre souvenirs personnels et recherches historiques nous racontent leur quête de la Silver Factory ». Les deux artistes cherchent à saisir l’esprit et les paradoxes d’un lieu où l’utopie de créations collectives croisait la figure tutélaire et envahissante du pape de la pop art. Dans ses excès, ses contradictions, mais aussi dans ce que cette aventure dit d’une époque disparue.
