Le sentiment de la vie est d’autant plus intense, d’autant plus galvanisant, que l’on envisage la mort comme l’un des personnages principaux de l’existence. C’est ce que veut nous dire Catherine Monin dans A Titre Provisoire, pièce présentée par Thierry Otin au Théâtre des Halles. Suite de tableaux construits à partir de monologues, de dialogues, de scènes collectives, cette proposition existentielle creuse notre rapport à la disparition à travers une pluralité de points de vue. « Le texte est prétexte à un jeu d’enfant (qui joue pour comprendre ou pour appréhender l’existence), à des instabilités d’état, à des batailles de gouffre, explique le metteur en scène. (…) Nous sommes sur l’arête et sans filet, restant dans cet état de frôlement du trou noir, rentrant subitement tantôt dans une fantasmagorie intime, tantôt dans une vision surréaliste de l’existence, tantôt dans un transport en commun… » Tout cela mis en mouvement « par une fête du présent, un rire moteur sans sarcasme ni quant-à-soi ».
