Un homme entre sur un plateau de théâtre. Seul sur scène, il se heurte aux murs, aux planches, au silence, à ses doutes et ses inquiétudes, se projette violemment contre les parois de son enfermement. Des portes claquent. « J’ai besoin de théâtre, clame-t-il. J’ai besoin de mise en scène. J’ai besoin de vous. Y a-t-il un auteur dans la salle ? » Condamné à être asservi par son personnage, l’interprète va et vient, se trompe, chante, improvise, s’indigne, éructe, parasité par la voix de l’enfant qu’il porte en lui. Est-ce le comédien qui fait le théâtre ou le théâtre qui fait le comédien ? Traversé par toutes sortes de fragilités et de doutes, Acteur de ma vie interroge la légitimité à prendre la parole, explore la question « du théâtre comme mise en scène de la vie inconsciente », la question « de la psychanalyse comme art dramatique ».
