« Depuis 1989, le festival a toujours privilégié la découverte d’artistes novateurs et la rencontre. Aujourd’hui la résistance à la politique du « divertissement » cloné, stimule notre énergie à lancer le remue-ménage sonore. Entourés par les artistes qui aiment passionnément partir en quête d’aventures musicales et prendre des risques, nous sommes ravis de leur permettre d’inventer les timbres inédits et la rythmique ébouriffante de la musique de demain » insiste Philippe Conrath, directeur et créateur d’Africolor. La programmation se développe autour de 25 concerts, comme une réflexion permanente autour de la question du métissage, empruntant résolument à tous les genres, « de la musique contemporaine au jazz, à la musique baroque, l’improvisation ou le hip-hop, tous en dialogue fécond avec les musiques du continent africain ».
