Comment l’idée de ce triptyque est-elle née ?
Agnès Marietta : Notre compagnie est associée au Théâtre de l’Usine depuis dix ans. Hubert Jappelle m’a proposé d’organiser un cycle avec quelques-unes de mes pièces, en partenariat avec l’Apostrophe, de novembre à janvier, tous les lundis. Jean Joël Le Chapelain en a choisi deux et nous clôturerons le cycle avec une création au Théâtre de l’Usine. Ce partenariat momentané entre ces deux structures est à la fois une belle aventure et l’occasion de montrer le travail de notre compagnie.
Y a-t-il un thème commun à ces trois pièces ?
A. M. : Les trois pièces sont hantées par la question du bonheur. Dans Verre brisé, les trois personnages ont tout pour être heureux mais vivent dans une insatisfaction harcelante, récurrente. C’est une pièce sur le sens de la vie : on les voit prendre conscience du vide de leur existence, de leur solitude et du fait qu’ils sont piégés par eux-mêmes puisqu’ils ont choisi leurs vies. Dans Cœur de cible, autour d’un couple référent, gravitent quatre personnages qui entrent en résonance avec lui autour des thèmes du couple et du désir. Eux non plus n’ont pas lieu de se plaindre mais sont affamés par quelque chose sans savoir quoi, dans un chassé-croisé entre satisfaction et frustration, posant et reposant la question de savoir si le bonheur est jouissance ou contentement.

Quelle est la réponse que vous apportez vous-même à cette question ?
A. M. : Pour moi, il y a une différence entre la jouissance et le bonheur. La jouissance est un instant immédiat, forcément suivi d’une descente. Le bonheur quant à lui est forcément relatif, avec des moments d’ennui, des moments où on est sur la touche. Je crois que le bonheur, c’est d’être content, c’est-à-dire de se contenter. L’expression semble péjorative mais je trouve que c’est un joli mot et une belle idée que de se contenter de l’instant présent, de l’ici et maintenant. Je ne sais pas si on est capable d’avoir la possibilité ou la sagesse d’être dans cette acceptation du rien d’extraordinaire, parce qu’on est happé, on est vivant, on doute toujours de ses choix.
Qu’évoque Suite parentale, que vous créerez en janvier ?
A. M. : C’est une pièce sur la place de l’illusion, du virtuel dans nos vies où le proche s’éloigne et le lointain nous semble proche. Quand on éteint l’ordinateur, on est seul encore et celui qui est proche devient un poids et perd de sa valeur. Celui qu’on coupe paraît plus précieux que celui qui est là. On se supprime, s’invite, s’ignore avec une totale cruauté et on se chosifie avec cette forme de communication.
Comment travaillez-vous avec Michel Marietta ?
A. M. : C’est une aventure conjugale en même temps que théâtrale et c’est vraiment une aventure à deux. Quand j’écris pour le théâtre, j’écris sur le couple et c’est mon mari qui met en scène. Il y a aussi ce questionnement sur le couple entre nous même si notre théâtre ne se réduit pas à une thérapie conjugale ! La démarche de Michel consiste à d’abord servir le texte et faire en sorte que les personnages existent et que les spectateurs puissent s’identifier. Notre bonheur, c’est quand les gens se reconnaissent, rient d’eux-mêmes et en discutent.
