Au seuil de cette nouvelle édition, Agora rend hommage à Gérard Grisey (1946-1998). L’interprétation de ses œuvres (Le Noir de l’étoile par les Percussions de Strasbourg, L’Icône paradoxale par le Philharmonique de Radio France, Vortex Temporum par l’ensemble Court-Circuit et Quatre chants pour franchir le seuil par Barbara Hannigan et l’Ensemble intercontemporain) rappellera combien sa musique est aujourd’hui indispensable. Georg Friedrich Haas pourrait en témoigner, lui qui s’inscrit dans l’héritage de l’inventeur de la musique « spectrale ». Le compositeur de 54 ans, qui donne à Agora la primeur de son opéra Melancholia (à partir du 9 juin au Palais Garnier), propose également In Vain, expérience sensorielle faisant quitter aux interprètes et au public le confort et les repères du concert traditionnel. Klangforum Wien interprète ces deux œuvres, et aussi celles de Beat Furrer, dont le public d’Agora avait pu découvrir son Fama, mis en scène par Christoph Marthaler en 2006.
