Si c’est bien entendu à la trompette que la lauréate du prestigieux Prix Django Reinhardt s’est imposée au fil des années, il n’en demeure pas moins qu’elle a aussi imprimé au centre de ses enjeux un sens du collectif, loin de tout vain ego trip. Voilà pourquoi elle reconduit la belle équipe qui officiait à ses côtés pour Radio One, le disque qui la révéla en 2015. Soit la chanteuse Isabel Sörling, une Suédoise à la palette large comme il faut, Benjamin Moussay aux claviers éclectiques et Fabrice Moreau aux baguettes polyrythmiques. « Chacun prend l’initiative, c’est très ouvert, mais très structuré », confiait alors Airelle Besson. Six ans plus tard, Try poursuit dans la même voie, mais en osant des formes plus ouvertes, que lui permet la formule désormais rodée. Dans cette cordiale entente, chacun prend l’initiative, pour une musique qui à la brillance pyrotechnique préfère l’émotion des contrastes, des sentiments partagés par tous et tout particulièrement par celle qui était surnommée « Tom Airelles », en référence à Tom Harrell, apôtre des climats feutrés. Aussi rare que sensible.
