Ils viennent du Brésil, de Chine, d’Inde, du Maroc, d’Angola, d’Italie ou encore d’Irlande, de Russie et de France. Leurs parents sont cadres et travaillent pour des multinationales, Nestlé, Tetra pak et autres Philip Morris… Eux passent d’un pays à l’autre, sillonnent les écoles internationales, brinquebalés au gré des besoins du marché et des délocalisations. En perpétuel transit donc. Qu’importe, ils se construisent des identités mosaïques, des amitiés duty free, des cultures en intérim. Hyper adaptables, polyglottes, pragmatiques, voire arrivistes, ces transplantés chroniques ont intégré tous les codes du capitalisme mondialisé. Sans état d’âme. Ils s’apprêtent à « gérer » leur vie avec une lucidité tranquille qui ne s’encombre pas de morale désuète. « Je ne veux pas t’épouser, j’ai déjà un passeport suisse. », dit l’une. « Dans vingt ans, j’aurai le pouvoir / Tu seras vieux ou mort ! / Je serai le chef de ton entreprise », scande un autre. Adorables, ces neuf petits nomades mondiaux…
Pragmatisme effrayant
Après les passionnés du modélisme, les camionneurs bulgares et les téléphonistes indiens, le Suisse Stefan Kaegi continue d’explorer notre réalité mondialisée et ses effets collatéraux. Avec l’Argentine Lola Arias, il a mené plusieurs ateliers à Lausanne, regroupant des enfants de sept à quatorze ans, tous expatriés. A partir de leurs histoires, de leurs expériences de vie, de leurs mots aussi, ils ont bâti un spectacle entre fictions et témoignages. Sur le plateau devenu zone de transit, avec pont de levage, tapis roulant et containers, chacun habite son carton, lieu d’intimité précaire au milieu des colis en partance. Sous l’œil de caméras de surveillance qui traquent leurs moindres faits et gestes, ils racontent leurs existences et leurs visions d’avenir… d’un cynisme souvent glaçant tant il colle au monde marchand. Si ces jeunes comédiens sont touchants, le propos pourtant reste un peu anecdotique, un peu simpliste. Manque sans doute une distance critique, un regard qui ouvre à la réalité complexe de la globalisation. Et questionne l’illusion de l’authenticité.
