Al Andalus revient cette année à Avignon, où il était déjà présent en 2010. Entre les deux éditions du festival, un événement marquant a eu lieu : le flamenco – tradition du peuple gitan andalou – s’est vu inscrire au patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’humanité de l’UNESCO, en novembre dernier. Une reconnaissance de la richesse de cette expression musicale et chorégraphique, qui cependant reste relativement méconnue : le groupe Al Andalus, composé d’artistes virtuoses, nous offre l’occasion de plonger dans cet art à la fois populaire et raffiné, rythmé et pathétique.
Deux spectacles simultanés
Chaque soir, du 8 au 31 juillet, les spectateurs pourront choisir entre deux spectacles. Deux danseurs, une chanteuse et deux guitaristes interprètent Noche Flamenca, au Théâtre du Préau. A l’Espace Roseau, Flamenco Nuevo unit l’énergie de la guitare aux mélodies envoûtantes du violon (avec deux danseurs, deux guitaristes-chanteurs, une violoniste). Une invitation à découvrir la sensualité, mais aussi l’inventivité et la recherche constantes qui animent le flamenco d’aujourd’hui.
