Qui dit Albertine Sarrazin dit L’Astragale (1964), le roman qui rendit célèbre la jeune femme à travers le récit en partie autobiographique d’une évasion de prison au cours de laquelle la fuyarde se brisa le petit os du pied appelé astragale. Albertine, prénommée d’abord Anne-Marie, fut sauvée par un homme en cavale, Julien Sarrazin, qui l’épousa et fonda plus tard une maison d’édition afin de publier ses œuvres. Issue de l’Assistance Publique, celle qui sera « auteure » fut élevée par des parents adoptifs qui, loin de la comprendre, l’éprouvèrent par une trop grande rigidité. Élève douée, la jeune fille était indisciplinée, rebelle et rétive ; elle fugua, on la rattrapa pour l’enfermer dans des établissements scolaires néo-pénitentiaires. D’évasion en évasion – La Cavale (1965) -, de la prostitution aux vols et aux braquages en compagnie d’une amante complice, elle fut arrêtée et incarcérée, d’où l’évasion qui lui fit connaître le grand amour. Publiée par Pauvert, elle connut une brève célébrité littéraire avant de mourir à trente ans d’un accident médical (1967).
La passion amoureuse
Le destin d’Albertine est empreint de fatalité tragique, porté par un être batailleur en lutte contre les mensonges et les petits arrangements, une âme innocente dont l’espoir a toujours su jongler avec le désir de vivre, une tension tournée vers l’avenir. Être en vie pour exister, une volonté d’exigence lucide et semée d’embûches qu’Albertine a pris plaisir à dépasser grâce à l’intensité d’une expression écrite jetée rageusement sur le papier et sublimée par l’art. Cette sérénité joyeuse arrachée aux épreuves grâce au pouvoir de l’écriture a troublé la comédienne et chanteuse Mona Heftre. L’actrice, sous le regard de Manon Savary, incarne Albertine Sarrazin, à la fois décidée et réservée, impatiente et sensible, femme frêle en pantalon et haut sombres, pieds nus ou chaussés d’escarpins blancs au chic sûr. Mona raconte, invente et chante, se dresse et s’assied, le temps de regarder avec le public quelques documents filmiques d’époque en noir et blanc – le portrait séduisant de cet ange noir, les coupures de presse relatant les effractions des voleuses arrêtées puis jugées. Une même foi sentimentale est évoquée, celle de la passion amoureuse. Poésie et profondeur pour un éloge de l’écriture et du sentiment de liberté.
