Résolument cross-over et populaire, lancé avec l’ambition de renforcer l’offre culturelle de la région, le festival d’Albertville, dont 2017 marque la troisième édition, mise au cœur de l’été sur le prestige de ses musiciens. Le 26 juillet, c’est ainsi Maceo Parker – le saxophoniste alto qui fit partie des légendaires J.B.’s, la section de soufflants de James Brown, véritable légende du funk – qui ouvrira les festivités. Le 30 juillet, c’est le phénoménal chanteur et pianiste anglais, crooner façon Brit-pop mais qui connaît son Sinatra sur le bout des doigts, Jamie Cullum, qui les terminera en beauté après avoir succédé à l’incroyable Jacob Collier, star des réseaux sociaux, dont les talents vocaux et instrumentaux ont laissé pantois la Toile. Entre les deux, l’Albertville Jazz Festival aura accueilli l’élégant groupe jazzy Pink Martini, doux comme un cocktail estival ; le bluesman Popa Chubby qui rugit de la voix comme de sa guitare ; et le pianiste cubain Roberto Fonseca, chouchou des festivals d’été qui se l’arrachent tant il a l’art de mettre tout le monde debout et de faire danser les foules aux rythmes de son île ! En premières parties, on retrouvera Nicolas Folmer, Pierre Bertrand, Eric Bibb et J.-J. Milteau…
