DYNAMO DE PANTIN / JAZZ
Musicienne de l’échange et de l’imprévu par excellence, nomade dans l’âme, Alexandra Grimal (saxophone ténor, voix) surprend une fois encore avec la musique de ce trio, né en avril 2016 sur la Scène nationale d’Orléans en compagnie de Sylvain Daniel (basse électrique) et Eric Echampard (batterie). Le titre « Kankū » du disque qui sort sur le label de l’ONJ renvoie à un kata japonais qui signifie “contempler le ciel”. Toutes les compositions de ce nouveau projet sont de la main d’Alexandra Grimal. En première partie, le quartette de l’étonnant clarinettiste Florent Pujuila à la double identité classique (il est Clarinette solo de l’Orchestre de chambre de Paris) et jazz, entouré d’improvisateurs de choc : Fabrice Martinez (trompette, bugle), Bruno Chevillon (contrebasse) et Eric Echampard (batterie). « Depuis l’adolescence j’ai pris des chemins de traverse, entre le conservatoire et mon premier groupe de rock… Avec cet ensemble nous explorons sans cesse cet aller-retour – à l’image de ma vie de musicien – entre écrit et improvisé. Une sorte de jazz de chambre… » confie Florent Pujuila.
