Alexandre Tharaud poursuit son exploration discographique de la musique
française. Après une intégrale Ravel et un hommage à Rameau, il choisit
d’aborder le Tic Toc Choc de François Couperin (1668-1773), une de ses
oeuvres pour clavecin les plus célèbres. Son titre déconcertant et amusant
s’explique par le rythme de cette courte pièce publiée en 1722, rondeau
réjouissant baptisé aussi « Les Maillotins », extraite du 3e Livre. En son
temps, le grand pianiste hongrois Georges Cziffra contribua à la populariser?
Dans le même disque, Tharaud explore quelques-unes des 251 autres partitions
pour clavecin que recèle l’?uvre prodigieuse de Couperin. Créant un lien habile
et logique avec sa discographie récente, le pianiste français choisit, en
concert, de jouer Six Pièces pour clavecin de Couperin, précédées de
Quatre Concertos de Bach, et prolongées par Le Tombeau de Couperin,
hommage de Ravel à ce musicien qu’il vénérait et considérait comme un des
fondateurs de la musique française.
