Autant dans Rameau et Couperin que dans Bach, Alexandre Tharaud a réussi à montrer que piano et musique baroque faisaient bon ménage même à l’heure des instruments anciens. La finesse de son toucher, son intelligence du phrasé l’inscrivent directement dans la lignée de la grande Marcelle Meyer. Il joue ce mois-ci les concertos du Kantor de Leipzig (notamment les célèbres opus composés par Bach d’après Vivaldi et Torelli) avec l’Orchestre de chambre de Munich dirigé depuis le violon par Daniel Giglberger. C’est l’une des rares occasions d’entendre le pianiste français, habitué au solo et à la musique de chambre, dans le répertoire concertant. A noter que ce concert se décline deux fois : au Théâtre du Châtelet (dans le cadre des traditionnels concerts du dimanche matin) et au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (avec en plus des œuvres de Haydn et Mozart).
