Les recherches d’Alexandre Tharaud dans le domaine de la musique ancienne, qu’il s’agisse de Bach, Rameau ou Couperin, passent toujours par le piano. Un choix « à contre-courant » du mouvement historique baroque privilégiant les instruments d’époque… Pourtant l’intelligence, l’audace et la justesse de ton et de phrasé du pianiste font mouche à chaque nouveau concert ou enregistrement. Après avoir rapproché la Suite en La de Rameau de pièces de compositeurs contemporains (autre terrain de jeu privilégié de l’intéressé), Tharaud choisit ce soir de mettre en relation cette musique (Suites en La et extraits de la Suite en Sol) avec, en deuxième partie de ce récital, les 24 Préludes de Chopin. Un pianiste au goût parfait.
