Pour sa tournée d’adieu, Alfred Brendel a choisi de jouer le Concerto « Jeune homme » de Mozart. Belle pirouette pour cet homme plein d’esprit, qui, à 77 ans, a choisi de se consacrer à la poésie. Contrairement à d’autres, il est certain qu’après ses ultimes concerts, il ne remontera plus jamais sur scène. La soirée de la Salle Pleyel est donc une occasion en or pour apprécier le piano précis, intelligent, aérien, en bref typiquement « viennois » de Brendel. Il est par ailleurs accompagné par l’Orchestre de la Tonhalle de Zürich, qui, depuis quelques années, est devenu l’une des plus passionnantes phalanges du Vieux continent. A l’origine de cette évolution se trouve le chef David Zinman, qui dépoussière avec brio le grand répertoire. On attend donc aussi avec impatience l’interprétation de la Première Symphonie de Mahler. A noter enfin une rareté : la Passacaille de Frank Martin, une délicieuse spécialité suisse.
