Programmée en pleine période de vacances scolaires « de printemps », cette production arrivée de l’Opéra du Rhin apparaît comme une belle opportunité de franchir pour la première fois les portes d’une maison d’opéra en compagnie de jeunes enfants (à partir de 5 ans). Le compositeur Luigi Cherubini et son librettiste Eugène Scribe, (complice de Verdi, Meyerbeer et Rossini) se sont emparés en 1833 de l’histoire à rebondissements d’Ali Baba pour donner naissance à cet ouvrage plein de charme exotique, de rebondissements, de formules magiques. L’opéra de 1833 a été, pour cette reprise, “lifté“ par le compositeur Pierre Thilloy, qui a resserré et réorchestré la partition, et par Markus Bothe, qui signe la mise en scène. Avec les Petits Chanteurs de la Maîtrise de l’Opéra national du Rhin et l’Ensemble orchestral du Conservatoire de Strasbourg dirigé par Vincent Monteil.
