Au délire érotomane et loufoque d’une Alice kaléidoscopique succède la confession introspective d’une mère de famille révoltée consolant sa frustration sexuelle pendant une journée d’errance libidinale, puis vient le feu d’artifice verbal d’un couple s’essayant à l’amour libre et retombant dans les rets de la jalousie possessive et les pièges de l’hypocrisie narcissique. L’unité théorique est ici celle d’un féminisme lucide et d’un art de la critique sociale que Dario Fo et Franca Rame servent avec une finesse et une précision dramatiques époustouflantes. Stuart Seide s’empare de ces textes bouffons avec intelligence et sagacité en se retenant de sombrer dans les dérives de la farce. Le comique naît du texte et du jeu des acteurs, sans ajout grotesque ou graveleux, sans traitement appuyé du ridicule. Surgissent ainsi l’émotion et la possibilité réflexive sans que la drôlerie en pâtisse pour autant. On rit beaucoup… On réfléchit pas mal…
