MALAKOFF / ORCHESTRE DE CHAMBRE / CRÉATION
Dans le paysage orchestral français, l’Orchestre Régional de Normandie, formation de chambre basée à Caen et dirigée par le chef français Jean Deroyer, frappe par sa capacité à faire émerger des projets de création originaux ouvrant des espaces de rencontre avec d’autres musiques ou univers artistiques. C’est le cas avec la parution de cet enregistrement passionnant proposant la découverte d’une partition d’Yves Rousseau, contrebassiste bien connu de la scène européenne du jazz contemporain, conçue sur mesure pour le musicien burkinabé Oua-Anou Diarra, spécialiste de la flûte peul guinéenne. Pour le compositeur, le défi réside évidemment dans la possibilité de faire dialoguer des mondes musicaux et instruments aussi distincts : « En composant, j’ai rêvé, imaginé, puis donné vie à cette rencontre entre deux mondes, celui de la musique écrite et celui de la tradition orale. J’ai souhaité une certaine mobilité des rôles, pour que l’orchestre, avec la richesse de sa palette sonore, accompagne le soliste tout autant que l’inverse. J’ai tenu à respecter l’univers de Oua-Anou Diarra tout en lui demandant de faire un pas vers la communauté des « classiques », tout comme j’ai demandé à l’orchestre de tendre, avec lui, les yeux dans les yeux et toutes oreilles ouvertes, vers une pulsation commune » explique Yves Rousseau.
