C’est l’histoire d’une belle rencontre entre une voix de légende et une jeune metteur en scène. En 2004, Juliette Deschamps, âgée de 25 ans, assiste le metteur en scène Yannis Kokkos sur Les Troyens de Berlioz au Théâtre du Châtelet. « Tout d’un coup, j’ai vu entrer dans la salle Anna Caterina Antonacci, et cela a eu l’effet d’une véritable déflagration. Sa voix est unique et son talent de comédienne incroyable. Une vraie diva aussi, avec ses angoisses, sa fragilité, ses caprices. Mais j’aime les animaux difficiles à dompter », confie Juliette Deschamps. Trois ans plus tard, le binôme se retrouve dans le spectacle « Era la notte », première mise en scène de Juliette Deschamps, où Anna Caterina Antonacci chante des airs du Seicento italien. Le Théâtre des Champs-Elysées poursuit cette collaboration en programmant ce mois-ci « Altre Stelle ». « L’idée est de réunir des grands airs de tragédienne et de construire à partir de ce choix une dramaturgie. Les rôles de Phèdre, Armide ou encore Médée sont ainsi campés par un même personnage, abîmé, abandonné, proche d’une Marilyn Monroe. C’est un monstre de scène avec une fêlure immédiatement visible », nous explique Juliette Deschamps.
Nouvelle forme
Il ne s’agit pas d’embellir un récital avec des costumes et une vague mise en espace. Le but est de créer une nouvelle forme de concert liant étroitement musique et théâtre. Juliette Deschamps marcherait-elle sur les pas de son père, actuel directeur de l’Opéra Comique ? « Grâce à ma famille, j’ai effectivement passé autant de temps dans les théâtres qu’à l’école ! Mais pour autant, je suis très différente de mon père : la preuve, je suis attirée par les tragédies et je n’ai aucun humour ! » Outre Anna Caterina Antonacci, « Altre Stelle » réunit les musiciens de l’orchestre Les Siècles dirigés par François-Xavier Roth. Quant aux décors, ils sont réalisés par un autre « fils de » : Nelson Wilmotte, progéniture du célèbre architecte Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Après avoir mis en scène une cantatrice lyrique, Juliette Deschamps s’apprête à imaginer pour l’année prochaine un spectacle autour de la chanteuse du groupe Moriarty, Rosemary Stanley. En attendant un projet qui lui tient particulièrement à cœur : Carmen qu’elle mettra en scène en 2012 à l’Opéra de Vienne. Preuve de la fidélité de Dominique Meyer, actuel directeur du Théâtre des Champs-Elysées et futur patron de la grande institution autrichienne, envers ses artistes.
