Ceux qui sont ulcérés par les mises en scène modernes, réactualisant les livrets d’opéras, vont être aux anges. Marcel Bozonnet, ancien administrateur général de la Comédie-Française, s’apprête à nous plonger sous les ors du Grand Siècle avec sa mise en scène d’Amadis de Gaule. Toiles peintes et jeu d’acteur « comme à l’époque » sont de mise pour cette production de l’opéra de Jean-Chrétien Bach, tombé dans l’oubli depuis sa création en 1779. Même souci d’authenticité du côté musical avec les instruments anciens du Cercle de l’harmonie, dirigé par Jérémie Rhorer, et une distribution rompue à la musique ancienne, de Philippe Do (dans le rôle-titre) à Hélène Guilmette. Cerise sur le gâteau : la compagnie les Cavatines, spécialisée dans la restitution des pas baroques, réalise les scènes dansées.
