Un jour de 2010, Joséphine Serre a la surprise de trouver un portefeuille dans la boite aux lettres de son domicile. L’objet contient notamment trois lettres manuscrites d’une certaine Colette B, pianiste. Les documents appartiennent à Amer M., un retraité algérien né en 1932, ancien ouvrier du BTP arrivé en France en 1954. Cette trouvaille est le début d’une longue enquête, qui l’amène jusqu’en Basse Kabylie. Parallèlement à ce périple, elle écrit Amer M puis Colette B., fabriquant un théâtre kaléidoscopique, fait de trous et de suspensions, qui investit tout à la fois les champs de l’intime, du poétique et du politique, à travers une sincérité et une force de conviction qui touchent au cœur. Le premier spectacle sillonne l’existence d’Amer M., introduit la relation sentimentale qui le lie à Colette B. et revient sur des drames parfois oubliés de l’histoire franco-algérienne. Plus mélancolique, plus méditatif, Colette B. invente ce qu’a pu être la vie de cette femme dont les traces sont quasi inexistantes. D’un bout à l’autre de l’existence, Amer M. et Colette B. entrelacent réel et imaginaire pour faire revivre ce qui manque, ce qui échappe, ce qui n’est plus.
