HOMMAGE A RADIOHEAD / STUDIO DE L’ERMITAGE
Fort d’un premier album bien accueilli par la presse, d’une vidéo vue près de 60.000 fois sur YouTube et de quelques dizaines de concerts sur les meilleures scènes, le pianiste Sébastien Paindestre s’est senti pousser des ailes pour poursuivre sa relecture jazz du répertoire de Radiohead. « Ma démarche depuis 2006 (merci à Brad Mehldau pour l’idée !) est de réaliser mon envie de marier deux mondes si proches (grâce à Miles et au Rock progressif) et si éloignés à la fois. L’enjeu était pour moi de me « trouver » artistiquement sans réaliser un simple « crossover » éphémère… » explique le leader de l’Amnesiac Quartet. Le projet de ce deuxième album enregistré en studio, après un disque « live », a été financé grâce aux soutiens réunis sur le site Ulule.fr, un site de référence pour le financement participatif, et grâce à l’aide précieuse du site français Radiohead.fr. Avec Sébastien Paindestre (claviers), Joachim Govin (contrebasse), Fabrice Theuillon (saxophone soprano, effets) et Antoine Paganotti (batterie). Du post-jazz inspiré et épuré.
