Le Théâtre de la Bastille programme une pièce que le chorégraphe montréalais a créée en 2001 : au cours de ses huit années d’existence, elle a constamment interrogé les spectateurs, renvoyés à la « dureté de la vie » (Daniel Léveillé explique que cette oeuvre est née de sa rencontre avec un jeune drogué et de sa découverte de la vie des jeunes de la rue) mais aussi à leur propre intimité. Et pour cause : les quatre interprètes, du début à la fin, sont exposés dans une nudité intégrale. La pièce, un petit bijou de précision que l’on pourrait voir comme une pièce « abstraite » à la construction vertigineuse, prend dès lors un sens immédiat, et instaure entre les danseurs et les spectateurs une relation intense. Lorsque les danseurs ont fait les premiers essais nus, « on était devant une sorte de vérité », souligne Daniel Léveillé. « Les corps devenaient fragiles et le spectateur, plutôt que d’avoir l’envie d’en amener un dans son lit, souhaitait plutôt les protéger, les couvrir ».
