Le mythe revisité de Faust occupe le metteur en scène Ezéquiel Garcia-Romeu à travers L’Invention de Morel d’Adolfo Bioy Casarès. Cet ami de Borges imagine une caméra anthropophage voleuse d’âmes et dès lors, pourvoyeuse de vie permanente.Monsieur Teste, un double fictif à jamais vivantde Paul Valéry participe aussi de la source d’inspiration de ces Anagrammes pour Faust. Fabriquer la vie relève d’une vision onirique des plus étranges, et le plateau de théâtre s’anime à la façon d’un laboratoire ou d’un atelier dans lequel le jeu de Meccano des garçons d’antan s’amuserait de la matière, des sons et des images. On pourrait comparer le spectacle à une sorte d’appareillage animiste avec comédiens, objets, livres, spectres, images : ces entités se parlent pour approfondir la connaissance de soi. La vie naît de l’articulation naturelle des paroles avec les mouvements, les sons, les bruits, les images sous les doigts des manipulateurs artistes. Du rêve vivant.
