« La joie de jouer ensemble dans tous les sens du terme, notre complicité accrue, tout en nous rendant plus exigeantes, nous offre une liberté nouvelle : voyager au-delà de cette porte de l’Orient qu’est la Grèce, affirmer que la musique ignore les frontières. », dit Angélique Ionatos à propos du nouveau spectacle qu’elle interprète avec Katerina Fotinaki. Anatoli, titre de ce nouveau duo, signifie, en grec, à la fois l’Orient et le lever du soleil. De fait, il y a quelque chose de solaire, d’à la fois lumineux et chaud, dans la présence de ces deux artistes aux timbres contrastés et complémentaires, grave et suave pour Ionastos, cristallin et léger pour Fotinaki. Musiques traditionnelles ou contemporaines, compositions personnelles ou reprises inspirées : les deux guitaristes accompagnent les mots des poètes qu’elles aiment et dont elles servent aussi bien la beauté que le sens. Virtuoses et précises et pourtant intenses et sensuelles, ces remarquables artistes ne sont pas seulement deux des plus grandes voix grecques : la connaissance musicologique et littéraire qui nourrit leur recherche et la passion de leur interprétation en font des phares de la scène musicale internationale. On ne peut que chavirer à l’écoute de ces deux sirènes qui entraînent la salle dans un tourbillon de couleurs et de rythmes.
