Une voix singulière et poétique, amoureuse transie du rythme de la langue française. Telle pourrait être une manière, parmi des dizaines d’autres, de définir le Béarnais André Minvielle. Artiste multi-cartes, aussi à l’aise avec ses cordes vocales qu’avec des percussions, il est également depuis des années à la tête d’un grand projet “Suivez l’accent”. Son but ? Elaborer « une sonothèque des accents de la Francophonie ». Compagnon de route de Bernard Lubat, mais aussi collaborateur régulier de la crème de la crème du jazz hexagonal (Louis Sclavis, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair…), le voici à l’affiche d’une création qui lui va comme un gant : un hommage à l’univers de Boby Lapointe avec un pianiste des plus délicats, Jean-Marie Machado. « C’est lui qui m’a demandé si j’étais partant pour travailler sur les chansons de Boby et d’en écrire de mon côté, raconte André Minvielle. J’ai essayé de créer une passerelle entre le jazz et la chanson : entre ces deux mondes, je ne me sens pas trop perdu. » Et le chanteur d’expliquer son admiration pour l’auteur d’Aragon et Castille : « C’est quelqu’un de rafraîchissant car son œuvre est ouverte, elle laisse la place à l’Autre. En plus, il est de Pézenas, je suis de Pau, il y a donc l’accent qui ne traîne pas très loin ! Et il y a surtout son humour évidemment, l’art du calembour. Je me demandais comment traduire ce côté poético-démesuré, mais avec les arrangements de Jean-Marie Machado, ça devrait aller tout seul. » Le rendez-vous est pris.
