MANDOLINE ET ENSEMBLE / VERSAILLES
Le Venice Baroque Orchestra et son chef et fondateur, le claveciniste Andrea Marcon, ont depuis déjà de longues années imposé leur voix singulière et irrésistible dans Vivaldi (on n’a pas oublié les légendaires Quatre Saisons et autres concerti avec Giuliano Carmignola), et plus largement dans la musique baroque italienne et même Haendel. Venise se cherchait un orchestre et l’a trouvé depuis 1997 grâce à cette réunion de quelques-uns des meilleurs instrumentistes baroques italiens. Pour cette soirée qui s’annonce délicieuse, dans l’écrin du somptueux Salon d’Hercule – le plus grand et l’un des plus richement décorés du Château de Versailles (marbres polychromes, cheminée, pilastres, fresques, tableaux de Véronèse…) -, Andrea Marcon dialogue avec le grand virtuose israélien de la mandoline Avi Avital dans une sélection de concerti de Vivaldi récemment enregistrés sous étiquette jaune. Par sa fougue, son brio et son appétit de découvrir ou adapter des partitions pour son instrument, ce musicien attachant fut reconnu en quelques années, à travers notamment ses premiers enregistrements pour Deutsche Grammophon (en 2012), comme le grand témoin et ambassadeur d’un petit instrument au charme fou, qu’il donne soudain envie de redécouvrir et d’aimer.
