Totalement relancé par l’album “West in Peace“ récemment paru chez Nocturne, le MegaOctet d’Andy Emler apparaît aujourd’hui sur la scène « jazz » européenne comme une réserve d’oxygène, de créativité et d’énergie positive unique en son genre. Créée en 1989, la formation adopte la formule du mini big band pour distiller une musique virtuose et festive, qu’Emler le “tambouilleur“ d’esthétiques multiples (de Bach à Zappa, d’Ellington à Yes) définit tout simplement comme “une musique européenne vivante de début de siècle“. Des compositions, de l’improvisation, du groove, des solistes ahurissants, un son d’orchestre organique et puissant, et partout, dans chaque note et à chaque instant, le bonheur d’inventer et de partager la musique. On admire !
