L’oralité et l’écriture, Andy Emler ne cesse d’interroger les relations entre ces deux manières de jouer avec les notes. C’est tout l’enjeu de cette création dont ce sera la première parisienne : A Filletta, l’ensemble de voix corses, y dialogue avec quatre musiciens du Megaoctet. « Suite à notre rencontre, j’ai compris qu’ils voulaient essayer d’autres voies que les polyphonies traditionnelles. Nous avons donc travaillé plus d’un an durant pour les amener vers l’improvisation et la musique écrite. Ce n’était pas joué au départ, mais au final, le projet s’appuie sur leur son, leur tradition, pour créer autre chose. Prendre des risques, cela suppose du temps, de l’engagement. » Pour preuve, la présence du Megaoctet qui persiste et signe après trente ans et huit disques. Nguyèn Lê et Médéric Collignon, deux anciens de l’équipée, sont ainsi conviés pour fêter dignement cet anniversaire. « Il y a des anciennes pièces mais aussi de nouveaux morceaux, et surtout des arrangements spécialement pensés pour les invités. » Pour Andy Emler le passé ne peut se jouer que recomposé, à la lecture du temps présent. D’où l’intitulé de cette soirée : Just A Beginning, manière de dire que tout ceci est un éternel recommencement.
