On connaît le penchant du festival Villette Sonique pour bousculer les habitudes et provoquer des rencontres avec des artistes singuliers, en marge des autoroutes de la production musicale actuelle. Il justifie ici sa réputation en invitant aujourd’hui Annette Peacock, disparue des scènes parisiennes depuis les années 80 ! Née en 1941 à Brooklyn, mariée dix-neuf ans plus tard avec le célèbre bassiste Gary Peacock, Annette Peacock est une artiste inclassable et légendaire – chanteuse, compositrice, pianiste et productrice -, enfant chérie de l’avant-garde new yorkaise des années 70, qui a croisé la route d’artistes aussi fascinants et différents que David Bowie, Brian Eno, Albert Ayler ou Salvador Dali. Longtemps oubliée en France, son retour sembla avoir été annoncé début 2015 avec la réédition de son premier album « I Belong to a World That’s Destroying Itself », brûlot sonore rock et jazz aux accents free de la fin des années 60 où elle expérimentait, en pionnière, les sonorités inédites du synthétiseur Moog. Cinq décennies plus tard, elle est toujours là, avec des choses à nous dire.
