Another Place et un Boléro, chorégraphie Mats Ek

En 2016, Mats Ek, immense chorégraphe suédois, avait décidé de mettre un coup d’arrêt à sa carrière. Non seulement il arrêtait de chorégraphier, mais il retirait tous ses ballets à l’affiche. Bref, à 70 ans, il faisait ses adieux à la danse. « Besoin de prendre du recul. » affirmait-il au terme de 50 ans de carrière. Il avait choisi Paris pour l’événement. Mais en 2018, coup de théâtre, on apprit qu’il revenait brièvement pour un court hommage à Ingmar Bergman intitulé Memory avec sa femme Ana Laguna. On sut alors qu’il recommencerait à vendre ses ballets. En 2019, il fait un retour en force et en majesté avec deux créations pour l’Opéra de Paris, qui détient déjà de nombreuses œuvres majeures de son répertoire, comme son fameux Giselle, mais aussi La Maison de Bernarda, et Apartement. Au programme rien de moins qu’un Boléro, « un défi » que le chorégraphe souhaitait monter depuis longtemps en espérant « y mettre sa marque ». Le Boléro n’a aucune dramaturgie. « C’est une seule montée en puissance de zéro à son maximum. C’est ce qui rend la chose si passionnante ! ». Dans la même soirée, sera créé Another Place, un duo imaginé sur la Sonate en si mineur de Franz Liszt. On sait déjà que la Première sera dansée par Aurélie Dupont, danseuse étoile et actuelle directrice de la Danse de l’Opéra de Paris. A ne pas manquer, donc.
