Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet / d'après Sophocle et Brecht / adaptation et mes Lucie Berelowitsch
En 1948, Brecht repris l’Antigone qu’Hölderlin avait lui-même tirée de Sophocle. Parce que le mythe « nous renseigne toujours sur notre actualité » et dans la mesure où ses avatars attestent de son intemporalité, Lucie Berelowitsch s’empare de ces textes successifs en les fondant ensemble au creuset du plateau. Elle les revisite, avec ses acteurs, à la lumière des préoccupations du nouveau siècle, dans ce « climat de sociétés hésitantes, perdues entre un modèle qui a fait son temps et un monde en devenir encore à inventer ». Antigone devient une figure multiple et internationale qui incarne « le thème de la révolte autant que ceux de la justice, de la légitimité et du compromis », dans une situation d’entre-deux-guerres où la révolte construit plus encore qu’elle ne détruit, refusant l’ordre ancien pour mieux interroger les conditions d’une harmonie nouvelle.
