« Le texte de Sophocle ressemble à du métal. Il est radical et dur comme une flèche. Cette densité doit être donnée à entendre. » La metteur en scène Elise Chatauret s’empare de la partition concise et musicale de Sophocle traduite par Irène Bonnaud et Malika Hammou avec une équipe d’acteurs qu’elle connaît bien. Pour rejouer le conflit inconciliable entre Antigone l’insoumise et Créon le garant zélé de l’ordre et de la loi, elle confie le rôle-titre à la jeune Aziza Ouali et celui du nouveau roi de Thèbes à Jean-Christophe Folly. La loi, l’ordre, la justice, la résistance, la rébellion : ces thèmes s’affrontent avec une puissance inégalée, éternellement contemporaine. Comme le souligne la metteur en scène, Antigone est aussi une pièce sur « l’immense impatience » des deux personnages principaux. Autour d’eux, Hélène Avice dans le rôle de Tirésias, des acteurs talentueux rencontrés à la Courneuve formant la troupe Babel, la chanteuse Casey pour le chœur accompagnée par le musicien Marc Sens. Pour que résonnent aujourd’hui la vieille lutte entre l’ordre et la désobéissance, et la réflexion sur la loi et la justice.
