L’ex-wonderboy du jazz français des années 80, au cours desquelles il prend en particulier les commandes de l’ONJ, est devenu aujourd’hui un musicien à totale maturité à la fois assagi et effervescent. Parmi ses projets, citons le bouillonnant et trop rare groupe « Pierre et Marie Tuerie » qu’il forme avec son épouse Véronique Wilmart, au point de rencontre entre la musique électro-acoustique et le jazz, mais aussi cette passionnante série de « Leçons de jazz » à l’Auditorium Saint-Germain… « Ce qui me fait plaisir, c’est lorsque les gens sortent en disant qu’ils ont la sensation de mieux comprendre la musique, d’être plus intelligents, et d’avoir envie de réécouter le musicien dont ils viennent de (re)découvrir la musique. » explique Antoine Hervé. Le prochain rendez-vous de ces très vivants et musicaux rendez-vous pédagogiques est consacré au saxophoniste Wayne Shorter, fondateur de Weather Report, et met en évidence son exceptionnelle dimension de compositeur. « Je suis parti du constat que le jazz est globalement méconnu. Or, j’avais besoin de faire découvrir aux gens ce qui me passionne au quotidien. J’ai ainsi imaginé ces « Leçons de jazz », qui, en un peu plus d’une heure, font le portrait de grands créateurs du jazz. Je rappelle le contexte historique, raconte des anecdotes et donne quelques éléments d’analyse musicale. L’idée est de désacraliser ces grands interprètes. C’est pour cela que je décris leurs faiblesses, leurs contradictions. Ces musiciens sont à la portée de tous. » explique Antoine Hervé. Passionnant et utile !
