Depuis bien longtemps, dès 1987 et son aventure à la tête de l’Orchestre National de Jazz, le pianiste et compositeur Antoine Hervé a trouvé dans le Théâtre de Suresnes une oreille des plus attentive à ses projets. Dix ans plus tard, c’est sur cette même scène qu’il crée l’ambitieux projet « Mozart, la nuit » qui rassemble un chœur de 120 chanteurs et un quartet de jazz composé des frères Moutin et du trompettiste allemand Markus Stockhausen. On le retrouve une nouvelle fois aujourd’hui sur la scène du Théâtre Jean Vilar pour un prometteur duel d’improvisation à deux pianos avec son complice Jean-François Zygel, le désormais célèbre « Monsieur Classique » de France Télévision. Une longue complicité lie les deux musiciens qui sont aussi l’un et l’autre de remarquables médiateurs de leur art : « Antoine et moi, nous nous sommes rencontrés au Conservatoire de Paris, à l’âge de 14 ans, dans la classe de solfège spécialisé. Nos parcours se sont ensuite séparés avant de se retrouver en 2006… Depuis, nous formons un véritable duo. Antoine n’est pas seulement pianiste de jazz, je l’ai entendu jouer admirablement des concertos de Rachmaninov… Il a une double culture, comme Keith Jarrett. Il m’a beaucoup appris, notamment par son grand sens du rythme mais aussi par son écoute du temps. Il a une vraie énergie intérieure, qui lui permet de très bien gérer le moment de l’improvisation. Son rapport au public est vraiment exceptionnel. Il échappe ainsi au cliché du musicien de jazz renfermé, jouant dans des cabarets enfumés ! » confie Zygel. Parallèlement, Antoine Hervé propose des leçons de jazz pour découvrir les géants de cette musique. Prochain rendez-vous : le 8 novembre à 21 h avec Duke Ellington…
