MUSICATREIZE / CONTE MUSICAL / THEATRE DE ST-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES
Le genre du mélodrame (langage parlé accompagné par l’orchestre) a inspiré de nombreux compositeurs depuis le XVIIIème siècle. Sur le modèle de l’Ariane de Benda, Mozart, déjà, souhaitait écrire une Semiramide sans faire appel à des chanteurs d’opéra. Dans Antti Puuhaara, le compositeur finlandais Tapio Tuomela (né en 1958) adopte ce procédé pour rendre le texte des protagonistes toujours intelligible, mais permet aux chœurs de chanter en finnois pour renforcer l’aspect mystérieux de la forêt nordique qui sert de cadre à ce conte. Le héros intrépide rencontre géants, devins, sorcières lors d’un périlleux voyage initiatique qui le mène au-delà de la rivière mythique de Tuonela. Il s’agit du quatrième des sept contes commandés par l’Ensemble Musicatreize présenté au Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
