Par-delà la poussière noire qui chaque jour brûle le visage du monde, les vies happées dans la tourmente, les crises, les guerres, les catastrophes, les intégrismes qui balafrent le présent, l’obscénité ordinaire des ardeurs commerçantes qui dévastent l’humain. Par-delà nos luttes intimes entre l’obscurité et la lumière. Après la bataille donc… C’est en fendant le désastre ambiant d’un cri rageur que Pippo Delbono a frayé son chemin. « Parfois, nous sentons mieux la liberté depuis la prison » dit-il. « La débâche peut nous ouvrir les yeux, nous aider à recommencer, à renaître, à nous défaire de nos peurs, pour aller vers l’art, vers la vérité, notre vérité. ». Bonimenteur pudique, frappé par les cahots de l’époque, le corps épais mais délié par une grâce de danseur, Pippo Delbono s’expose à la scène et trame son œuvre comme un voyage traversé de fantômes, de rêves et de frayeurs. Son histoire naît en 1959 en Italie. Elle est celle d’un garçon qui a grandi dans les brides serrées de la morale catholique, qui cherche une échappée, découvre l’amour interdit, et l’alcool, le sexe, la drogue, finalement le théâtre. Il croise la route de l’Odin Théâtre d’Eugenio Barba et de Pina Bausch, rencontre ceux qui deviendront ses inséparables compagnons de fortune : Bobo, sourd muet microcéphale, et puis Gianluca, Nelson et quelques autres.
Une poésie à vif qui brûle au ventre
Veilleur écorché des douleurs et des jours, l’artiste italien prend la matière de son théâtre parmi les tessons de vie, captant en un singulier reflet les éclats magnifiques et les blessures profondes, la cruelle beauté du réel. Il mêle aussi sa voix à celles des poètes qui l’accompagnent : Artaud, Pasolini, Shakespeare, Fellini, Rilke ou Pina Bausch résonnent en intimes échos. « Chaque création appelle un parcours de création différent. Je travaille autant avec l’image, la grammaire cinématographique, que la poésie, la danse, le théâtre ou la musique. Je compose surtout avec les êtres qui sont là, avec ce qu’ils sont. Au cours de la recherche, des images, des mouvements, des paroles surgissent par associations, digressions, comme dans un rêve qui s’emporte. Les mots ne peuvent pas toujours dire ce que je veux raconter. La liberté, la joie, l’amour s’éprouvent mieux avec la danse. Dans la tradition orientale, qui m’a nourri, le théâtre et la danse ne sont pas séparés. La danse permet de dépasser la classe sociale, elle a un sens politique fort. Quand un gitan danse, on voit d’abord un danseur et non pas sa situation sociale. J’essaie de partager ce que je ressens. Pour ça, il faut se libérer des peurs, des pensées, des idées. Le théâtre doit parler au ventre. Il fait sortir l’intimité du spectateur. C’est le spectacle de son histoire. ». Enfermés dans une chambre gris béton, les êtres D’après la bataille glissent dans l’infini tourbillon de l’existence, enlacés par les puissantes mélodies du Lac des cygnes, la déferlante des cataclysmes et les élans du désir, malgré tout. Surgissant du chaos, Marie-Agnès Gillot, étoile de l’Opéra de Paris, suspend le tumulte par la sublime grâce de son geste. Hommage à Pina Bausch, Après la bataille s’écrit au revers du conscient comme un poignant poème sur le pouvoir, le besoin de lucidité après la folie, sur la mort, sur la vie, avec ses joies dérisoires et ses lancinants tourments.
