C’est assez logiquement que Jean-Rémy Guédon et ses complices du « grand format » Archimusic choisissent une librairie, La Mouette rieuse, dans le quartier du Marais, pour présenter le concert de sortie de leur nouvel album inspiré par les écrits de Marc-Aurèle. La pensée du philosophe stoïcien (et empereur) romain renvoie à un temps sans Dieu de l’histoire de l’humanité dans lequel Guédon, qui a composé tout le répertoire de ce nouveau programme, semble trouver un écho à son propre sentiment de « solitude spirituelle face à l’immensité de l’univers ». Evoquant cette création, Guédon aime à citer Flaubert qui écrit : « Les dieux n’étant plus et le Christ n’étant pas encore, il y a eu, de Cicéron à Marc-Aurèle, un moment unique où l’homme seul a été. » Ces Pensées pour moi-même s’inscrivent dans une certaine continuité du projet Sade Songs, œuvre-phare d’Archimusic, où était convoquée la parole du Marquis de Sade. Avec la belle équipe de musiciens d’Archimusic (Fabrice Martinez, Nicolas Fargeix, Yves Rousseau, etc..) et la voix de la brillante soprano Laurence Malherbe.
