Tout comme Albert Roussel et quelques autres, Paul Dukas est un compositeur injustement sous-estimé aujourd’hui. Coincé entre les impressionnistes d’une part, Satie et le Groupe des Six d’autre part, il n’appartient à aucun mouvement. Pourtant, de son temps, Dukas rencontra un vif succès, notamment avec la création d’Ariane et Barbe-Bleue. Aujourd’hui, une nouvelle génération de musiciens commence à s’intéresser à de tels compositeurs. Jean Deroyer fait partie de ceux-là. Habitué aux créations contemporaines – nous avions pu l’entendre l’an dernier à l’Opéra comique pour Les Boulingrin d’Aperghis – il possède la rigueur nécessaire pour révéler la mécanique précise de la musique de Dukas. Avec Jennifer Wilson et Emmanuelle de Negri dans les rôles principaux, on peut compter sur un plateau vocal plein de charme et de panache.
