Particularité de ces moments sans électricité au nom de l’écoresponsabilité : ils sont aussi… sans amplification. Dans l’intimité du club, chaque note retrouve ainsi une forme de « virginité ». L’écoute est plus attentive ; la musique en ressort grandie, épurée, délivrée dans la nudité et la plénitude du son. Pour célébrer la première année d’existence de cette formule, le club invite Arnaud Dolmen à se produire en solo, au moment même où le batteur vient d’apprendre qu’il est en lice, à 38 ans, pour recevoir le prix Django-Reinhardt de l’Académie du jazz qui récompense le musicien de l’année. Cette distinction vient saluer le chemin parcouru avec beaucoup d’opiniâtreté par ce musicien d’origine guadeloupéenne, qui a grandi en assimilant les rythmes du tambour ka qu’il mêle au vocabulaire du jazz contemporain, dont on appréciera, dans ce contexte de solo à nu, toute l’amplitude.
