A la charnière entre les styles Renaissance et Baroque, la musique du début du XVIIème siècle possède un souffle novateur. C’est durant cette époque que s’est développée l’écriture polychorale, jouant sur l’opposition et même la spatialisation des voix. Le chœur Arsys Bourgogne a choisi de consacrer intégralement un programme à cette période, associant des pages d’Heinrich Schütz (notamment le remarquable Deutsches Magnificat), Michael Praetorius ou encore Johann Michael Bach. Placées sous la direction de Pierre Cao, les voix du chœur de chambre sauront trouver le ton propre à ce répertoire, qui exige tout à la fois sobriété et expression. Autre bonne raison de se réjouir : Arsys est soutenu par l’ensemble instrumental Les Basses réunies, créé par le violoncelliste Bruno Cocset – une formation d’une rare homogénéité, aux timbres délicieusement âpres.
