Huit danseurs, deux chanteurs, des musiciens (dont un accordéoniste et un joueur de marimba que le chef Wim Selles a adjoints à l’orchestre baroque requis pour interpréter les arias de Haendel) : Koen Augustijnen inscrit une « masse humaine » d’interprètes dans un décor dévasté, composé par l’artiste visuel Jean Bernard Koeman. « Qu’est-ce qui reste encore des gens quand ils ont perdu la plupart des références autour d’eux ? » se demande le chorégraphe. « Est-ce qu’on accepte la perte et le changement ? Est-ce qu’on se lâche et s’ouvre pour quelque chose de nouveau ou est-ce qu’on se ferme et s’accroche au passé ? » C’est à partir de telles questions que les interprètes ont travaillé, sans sentimentalisme et sans concessions. Une danse de perte, d’adieu, de confusion – qui affirme aussi, dans des moments bouleversants de douceur et de curiosité, la foi en l’imagination vitale qui permet de renaître.
