Entre 1998 et 2006, Philippe Fenwick et le collectif Z.O.U. ont parcouru à pied leur voyage de comédiens aux côtés d’une troupe de théâtre, jouant tous les soirs sur les places de villages de France. Cet artiste de l’itinérance a raconté son aventure dans Un théâtre qui marche, 7000 kilomètres à pied à la suite d’un théâtre. Aujourd’hui, avec Atavisme ou le Syndrome Korsakov, l’équipée choisit encore un parcours extrême mais en train, cette fois-ci, à savoir Brest-Vladivostock, accumulant quinze mille kilomètres dont neuf mille avec le fantastique transsibérien. De quoi se laisser porter rêveusement par l’imaginaire. L’histoire part d’un rien propice à déclencher un monde où l’onirisme se déploie amplement : un journaliste tente de reconstituer les dernières années de la vie d’un chanteur de music-hall malade et en fin de parcours.
Rencontres et adieux
C’est une ouverture inattendue à travers le voyage mental d’un artiste mélancolique. Le chanteur court en songe sur les traces orientales d’une acrobate gracieuse. La caravane du Collectif Zou qu’accompagnent des artistes de la chanson, de la danse contemporaine, du cirque et de la magie nouvelle, se met à l’écoute des langues des pays traversés, ébranlant les stridences d’un train en partance éternelle. Tout en déchiffrant les indicateurs de chemins de fer et en se laissant porter au-delà de la vitre par l’immensité de paysages somptueux et l’exotisme des noms de lieux, le parcours du voyageur est émaillé de rencontres et d’adieux sur des quais de gare gravés dans les mémoires nostalgiques. Une mosaïque de stations poétiques.
